Release Manager

To be a successful Release Manager at you should be an experienced engineer with an understanding of the challenges of delivering a software product on time and on spec. You will work closely with our product management, engineering and machine learning teams to create and deliver solutions to our customers. This group of colleagues will be an international, world class team of engineers and researchers from a variety of different backgrounds and experiences.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage the planning of the software release pipeline for one or many products
  • Manage the release prioritisation between customer requests and the delivery team's ability to produce software
  • Ensure internal stakeholders work together towards releasing high-quality products reliably
  • Manage the potential risks in a release (unseen dependencies, slower than expected progress...)
  • Continuously develop and improve our release process

Essential qualifications

  • Experience in software development and delivery
  • At your best in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to communicate with different product stakeholders
  • Analytical and quantitative skills for developing useful metrics for the release process
  • University degree in computer science or equivalent

Desired qualifications

  • Release management experience
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Familiarity with build and CI systems as well as deployment tools (e.g. version management, containerisation or virtual machines, cloud deployment)
  • Familiarity with task management software such as JIRA
